Potential Source of Mesenchymal Stem Cell (MSCs) in Veterinary Medicine

Stem cells serve a vital function in veterinary care in a variety of ways. Several stem cell treatments for animal patients are now being developed, and some, such as the treatment of horse tendinopathies using mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), have already successfully hit the market. Furthermore, animal models are routinely employed to explore the qualities and potential of stem cells for future uses in human health. Furthermore, bovine ES cells have been generated in primary culture, and there have been reports of ES cells obtained from mink, however, practical uses of ES cells are not yet conceivable due to their teratogenic degeneration in vivo. The ability to create a teratoma composed of tissues from all three germ lines also acts as a clear in vivo test for ES. As a result, the focus of veterinary research is presently on adult stem cells and their potential in regenerative medicine. As a result, the goal of this study is to provide an overview of the basic research and clinical applications of MSCs in veterinary medicine.
