Abstract

Abstract
Phosphocompost, phosphorus-enriched organic manure, generally improves the crop yield and maintains soil quality by improving various physical properties of the soils including soil aggregation. Sixteen different combinations of treatments including different doses of phosphocompost, inorganic fertilizers and other nutrients etc. were applied to study the effect of phosphocompost on soil aggregation and comparative evaluation among themselves. Soil aggregation was much higher in the soils treated with phosphocompost and simple compost as compared to any combinations of inorganic fertilizers. Strong relationship among different indices of aggregation indicated their suitability for the evaluation of aggregate status in soil.
