Role of Neem based Biopesticides to control agricultural pest as an Environmental friendly management

Sagar C Ghava, Yash Chopda, Dr. Sumit Kumar

Abstract

The present study aims to review various applications, advantages and shortcomings of different formulations of Neem-based bio-pesticides. The term bio-pesticide refers to the use of cow urine, plant extracts or microbial formulations, or a combination of these. The production of bio-pesticides involves simple strategies and thus they are very economical compare to chemical pesticides. The yield and quality of various agricultural and horticultural produces are adversely affected by the attack of different kinds of pests. These pests may include bacteria, fungi, and/or insects from several genera. The uses of chemical pesticides greatly help in the control and management of pest nuisance but result in many adverse impacts on the survival of other useful organisms, the environment, and human health. The development and use of Neem-based bio-pesticide along with other plant extracts could eliminate the shortcomings of chemical pesticides and pave the way for the promotion of organic farming and the development of sustainable agriculture.  In contrast to chemical pesticides, bio-pesticides are eco-friendly and very safe.
