Abstract
An experiment was conducted at the BARI, Regional Station, Jamalpur during rabi 2014–2015 and 2015–2016 to find out the suitable seedling age and number of seedling hill-1 for maximum yield of winter chilli. The result revealed that maximum cost of cultivation was found in D1S3 (25 days + 03 seedling), D2S3 (30 days + 03 seedling) and D3S3 (35 days + 03 seedling) treatments while the minimum in D1S1(25 days + 01 seedling), D3S1(35 days + 01 seedling) and D2S1(30 days + 01 seedling). The treatment D3S1(35 days + 01 seedling) and D1S1(25 days + 01 seedling) gave the highest gross return (Tk 176000 and 180000 ha-1), gross margin (Tk 118000 and 106000 ha-1) and BCR (3.03 and 3.10). Minimum gross return (Tk 120000 and 126000 ha-1), gross margin (Tk 62000 and 62000 ha-1) and BCR (2.00 and 2.03) were obtained from both year results.
